This is barely a recipe… because it is so easy. But do not let the easiness fool you. It is damn good.
- 1 package of Butler’s Curls
- Bottle of BBQ Sauce
These curls can be used in other dishes and trust me, they taste great.
Put the curls in a large pot. Pour warm water over the curls. Wait 10-15 minutes. Drain the water out (or most of it). Add a 1/2 bottle of BBQ sauce (amount to what makes sense). Mix in as you go. Heat up.
Lightly toast some quality buns. Spoon a heap of the BBQ curls on the bun and serve with some side dish. 10 minutes of work for a tasty vegan meal!
Note, from the Brand New Vegan site, here is a recipe for making your own sauce.
- 2 8oz cans tomato sauce
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ⅓ cup Agave Syrup (can use sugar or honey if you are okay with honey in your food)
- ¼ cup tomato paste
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons Worstershire sauce (Vegan if you have it!)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Simmer all of it. Done.
Next is the recipe from Butler Curls
