Gardein Sweet and Sour Porkless Bites

This is one of those recipes I go to when I flat ran out of time or energy.  It is so simple.  This uses the Gardein package of sweet and sour Porkless bites.  Now one package, if this is all you cooked and served, is only enough for two people, barely.  And you can do that. Just follow the directions on the package.  But I rather increase the veggie content and make it so that one package feeds 4.  Note, you can also use two packages.

  • Cooked rice
  • Package of Gardein Porkless Sweet and Sour
  • Veggies.  I like using 1 or 2 heads of broccoli cut into florets, an onion cut into slices. Some sliced bell peppers. Some sliced mushrooms.  A handful of sliced green onions.  All optional and you can use carrots, etc.
  • A bit of oil
  • Garnishes Green onions and sesame seeds (optional)

So my method-

Start the rice in the rice cooker.  If you do not have one… get one.

Open the Gardein package and put the sauce pack in hot water to thaw.

In a wok, heat up some oil.  Add veggies.  Harder veggies first.  Broccoli, then bell peppers, then onions, then mushrooms, then green onions.  Add some salt and pepper.  When cooked, pull out and put in a bowl.

In the same wok, add a few tablespoons of fresh oil.  Add in Gardein porks. Make sure the heat is hot enough and there is enough oil so as to not stick.  Turn to evenly heat for a few minutes.

Add back the veggies.  Add in the sauce pack.  Stir.

Serve over rice with some more sliced green onions and some sesame seeds.
