These could easily be made with other fillings and will make a good side dish or appetizer. Makes about 36 turnovers.
Ingredients
- 1 package of won ton wrappers
- 2 large onions
- Small amount of oil to cook onions and coat turnovers.
- 1 package of frozen chopped spinach
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Chop onions finely. Place into pan and saute in some olive oil until soft. Add all other filling ingredients to pan. Continue to cook for at least 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Makes about 2 cups of filling.
Create an assembly line with a small bowl of water and then 6 or so wrappers at a time. Line up wrappers and fill each with 1 tablespoon of filling. Using your finger, wet edges of the wrapper. Fold over to make triangles. Press edges to make a good seal. You can freeze them like this for saving if you want.
On a cookie sheet/tray, brush with oil and place a number of the turnovers on the sheet. Brush tops of turnovers with oil.
Bake at 350-375 degrees until golden brown.
Serve with soy sauce, peanut sauce, or sriracha.
